Accept Rules, Restrictions, & Troubleshooting:

Accept Rules:

  • This chat room is created for people who are interested in learning, and support the idea of biological treatments for autism, PDD and AD(H)D or related disorders. It is designed to encourage friendly communication and discussion. Please avoid any personal attacks, potentially offensive or rude statements or spamming. Please be aware that you will be warned and eventually banned from participating in the chat if you are not following our protocol and above stated rules.
  • You may only type your questions, no speaking is allowed. To indicate that you have a question, please click on the "Online" button in the lower left and select the "Question" icon. This will create a queue in the member panel. The member at the top of the queue is the next to type his/her question. When you are done with your question, please change the “Question” icon back to the “Online” button.   Please hold any questions for speaker until the end of the presentation.  Please keep questions as concise as possible (5-6 lines).
  • Please, try to avoid asking personal questions and make them as general as possible for relevancy and interest to all the participants. For example:  Instead of “What anti-fungal should my child take if this is the 3rd time we’ve treated him for yeast…?” Please ask: “How do you know when a Candida treatment is successful?”

Restrictions for Web Conference Software (please note):

  • This software is designed only for PC users with a high speed internet connection.
  • Dial up connections will not be able to support the web conference software.
  • The link is a software program for Windows users only (not Macintosh).
  • Once the software is installed, there should be an Icon on your desktop called “GPL Conference” which will take you directly to the web conference.

Problem with downloading or viewing of Web Conference:

Unable to view Conference Slides:
If during the Web Conference you are having difficulties viewing the slides, try logging out and back in to see if this helps.  There could be a setting on your computer that prevents the slides from showing.  If this is the case, another option for viewing the slides is to open up a web browser and copy the presentation link in the address bar of the web conference software into the second web browser’s address bar.  This way you can not only view the slides, but can listen to the presentation.

There could be a setting on your computer that prevents the slides from showing.  If you need a copy of the PowerPoint presentation before or after viewing the web conference, please email Rory Butler at rbutler@gpl4u.com.

Select link in the address bar.  Edit, copy.  Open second web browser.  Highlight the address link and paste the web conference link into the second browser.  You will have to keep open the web conference program to hear the presentation as well as the second browser to see the slides. (see below graphic)

This applies to users who have Windows XP Service Pack 2 only.

1. Click on Start and then Control Panel.

2. You will have one of two control panels.  Click on the Security Center icon

3. Click on the Windows Firewall icon beneath the status updates.
4. Click Off (not recommended) and then click  OK.
* NOTE: To turn it back on at a later date, go through these same steps except click On (recommended).  When turning the Firewall back on, you can stop at this step, there is no need to continue.

6. Click on the balloon, or on the red shield in the system tray, and you will get the screen below. Click on Recommendations

7. Place a check in the "I have a firewall solution that I'll monitor myself" box.  This will stop Windows from popping up alerts that you are at risk. Click OK

8. After you click OK, you will get the following screen. This screen is saying that Windows will not monitor your firewall settings.  Just close the window, and you are done.
