"The Organic Acids Test has brought new meaning to my specialized practice in women’s health. This test has allowed me to investigate more deeply the chronic issues that contribute to female related conditions like PMS, uterine fibroids, endometriosis, chronic UTIs and vulvodynia. "I had switched to another lab to try to save my patients some money on IgG testing. The other lab didn’t seem to be as accurate, and was giving odd results, such as pinto beans, when I knew from other lab testing, that there may have been gluten or casein issues. Thus, I have switched back to Great Plains for my IgG testing, and do not plan to switch again. Its worth the money to get accurate results. When I cross check the results from Great Plains with other lab's IgG testing for gluten and casein, the results match up and correlate. I am very happy with the IgG test results from Great Plains. I always say that without this valuable test, I would not be in practice. It has helped so many of my patients! Recently, I had a patient with the most severe case of eczema I had ever seen in my practice. The parents came to me as a last resort after seeing multiple specialists, allergists and dermatologists. We did the Great Plains IgG testing and discovered he was sensitive to the usual gluten, dairy and eggs, and promptly removed these foods. Beef had also come up very elevated. Once we removed beef, the eczema cleared completely! If it were not for this testing, this child would still be suffering. Its well worth the money."

Positive Impact
"First of all I want to thank The Great Plains Laboratory and report on a remarkable success. In April 2003 you performed the urine peptide test for Roan in connection with his diagnosis of autism. He tested VERY positive to gluten and casein intolerance, so very often a part of the autism spectrum. We immediately deleted these two items from his diet. Within a week, Roan went from almost no speech, to talking, an incredible decrease in stimming and tantrums, and other remarkable progress.
His progress was so remarkable that the head of special services in our local school system indicated that if Roan could handle a full days of school, five days a week in a regular class setting during the summer 2003 session, he should be able to begin kindergarten in the fall right on time! He completed summer school with flying colors and is right on track in his current kindergarten class. The first day of school, the class was observed by five different teachers, and no one was able to pick out the "autistic child"!

Obviously the gluten/casein intolerance plays a large part in autism's manifestations, at least in Roan's case. He has accidentally grabbed his brother's "regular milk" on three occasions since April with no apparent results, but eating one breaded chicken nugget off his brother's plate and being fed ready-to-eat breakfast cereals twice at his father's caused the same reaction as a drug "come down"...the first occasion with the cereal lasting for THREE days. Roan's aide at school and the school nurse both verified this behavior. We are very, very watchful of his intake.
...We also had a 96 item food allergy scan done and Roan was allergic to apples, bananas, green beans, cabbage, egg yolks and whites and a few other things so we have also been avoiding them."

He has a disorder of the fatty acids b-oxidation (known as the deficit of the short-chain AcylCoA dehydrogenase). He is now on the very low fat diet, rich in carbohydrates, vitamin B2 and avoiding any fasting. Dramatic Increase in Social Language
"I am sending this information in an attempt to describe the changes we have seen in our daughter since beginning an anti-yeast program. We began this program December 7, 1995 after receiving her results from your Organic Acids Test. Her original diagnosis is PDD-NOS.
After the initial reaction, we noticed immediate improvement with regard to her early morning moods. When she awakens now she is generally happy. Before the program her morning would begin with screams and tears or sometimes happiness--we never knew who would wake up in the morning. We also noticed dramatic increase in her social language. Improvements in an Adult with Autism
"J. was recently found to have elevated metabolites from colonic yeast, detected by urine testing performed by The Great Plains Laboratory, Inc. This led to treatment with Nystatin and the disappearance of what can be major behavioral problems!! If medication is missed the behavior problems reappear! The potential to function as a more normal person has increased. Much more with reality, little self-stimulation, good eye contact usually and sometimes affectionate. Since the Nystatin treatment, understandable speech has increased: this is still an area in which much work is needed. Example - last night, with deliberate effort, J. said, "It's time to go home." Nystatin has been the ONLY thing that has truly been helpful over the years.
