MyMedLab is a web based company that provides patients with everything they need to facilitate The Great Plains Laboratory, Inc. tests including a physician signature and professional blood draw. The idea is to empower the patient with health freedom independent of insurance while maintaining standards which are governed by transparent systems of operation. The laboratory records provided by MyMedLab are secured and can only be viewed by the patient.
MyMedLab leverages information technology to provide real and ongoing value to the next generation of health care consumers.
Many of the tests that are offered at The Great Plains Laboratory, Inc. are available through MyMedLab which is responsible for ordering the test, collecting payment, and providing the records to the patient on line. The Great Plains Laboratory, Inc. will provide the same quality results and personalized service that patients expect. All patients are welcome to call The Great Plains Laboratory, Inc. for assistance with the collection, status of results, and assistance finding a practitioner for treatment based upon testing.
MyMedLab does not take the place of a physician. Treatment based upon results requires a trained medical professional. The Great Plains Laboratory, Inc. currently has a list of physicians who are willing to consult with patients who use The Great Plains Laboratory, Inc. tests. Please contact our customer service department to get a physician referral. We are constantly seeking qualified physicians who will consult with patients on a paid basis. How does it work?
The patient will select, order, and pay for the The Great Plains Laboratory, Inc. test directly through the website http://greatplains.mymedlab.com. MyMedLab will send your order to The Great Plains Laboratory, Inc. who will then send the patient out a test kit. Urine, stool, and hair specimen will be collected from home and returned to The Great Plains Laboratory, Inc. using the prepaid Fed Ex bag inside the kit. The blood test kits may be taken to any Lab Corp draw site so that a trained phlebotomist can draw the blood. The specimen will be returned by the phlebotomist using the prepaid Fed Ex bag provided.
How do I get the blood drawn?
MyMedLab will provide an order for blood work that may be printed and taken to any Lab Corp facility nationwide. The blood work for any test performed by The Great Plains Laboratory, Inc. will include a free routine Complete Blood Count (CBC) test.
What tests are offered through MyMedLab?
Anything from thyroid to drug testing is available through MyMedLab. The Great Plains Laboratory, Inc. currently offers the Organic Acid Test (OAT), Comprehensive Stool, Metals Hair analysis, Metals Urine analysis, Gluten/Casin Peptides test and the OAT + Yeast culture sensitivity combo test at MyMedLab.
Can I file insurance for tests ordered through MyMedLab?
It is not likely that insurance will pay
for the test ordered through
MyMedLab due to the limited ability of the ordering physician to give a medically necessary diagnosis. MyMedLab is a convenient alternative for patients who do not
wish to use insurance. The Great
Plains Laboratory, Inc. will not provide any insurance information for MyMedLab testing.
How will I receive my results?
The patient’s test results are made available through a secure personal health record (PHR) account available online through MyMedLab. The PHR will maintain all of the patient’s results. The record is kept confidential and separate from the Medical Information Bureau which uses personal health records to determine eligibility for insurance coverage.
Will there be additional charges through MyMedLab?
Additional charges will be included to cover the physician service, phlebotomy service, and transaction fee. The price of the test will be the same as The Great Plains Laboratory, Inc. list price. All blood tests will include a Complete Blood Count (CBC) at no additional charge.
Is MyMedLab available in every state?
MyMedLab provides services in 47 states in the United States. MyMed Lab is not available in MD, NY, NJ, or RI. The service is not available in Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Who will provide me with treatment based on my test results?
The test results may be taken to any health care practitioner for treatment. Since many physicians are not familiar with the tests performed at The Great Plains Laboratory, Inc., patients may wish to call The Great Plains Laboratory, Inc. for a physician referral. Patients should expect to pay the physician for the consultation service. Many physicians will provide a phone consultation if the patient is a significant distance from the clinic. The Great Plains Laboratory, Inc. is constantly seeking qualified physicians who will consult with patients on a paid basis. Physicians interested in becoming a referred physician should also contact customer service.
